I was born in the Pacific Northwest, but my heart soon followed my curious mind on a journey around the world. It was in places far from here that I discovered healing arts that changed the course of my life.
I discovered Yoga at an early age, and added Qi Gong to my daily practice while traveling to the Far East. While living in China, I studied Mandarin Chinese and was first introduced to the transformative healing powers of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I received a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle in 2001. Soon thereafter, I received my certification from The National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I also completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Seattle University.
I have always been impressed with acupuncture’s ability to heal and integrate deep splits in the mind-body. Over the last 20 years, I integrated Carl Jung’s Dream Work into my clinical practice. By getting to know the light and shadow aspects of the psyche rather than trying to cover them up, we get to know ourselves more deeply and can integrate other aspects of our personality into our awakened soul.
About My Practice:
While acupuncture is covered by most insurance policies, the experience often feels less like a trip to the doctor or chiropractor and more like an escape for relaxation. At my West Seattle location I have created a nurturing, tranquil, place of healing and rejuvenation. We look beyond the physical concerns to address holistic healing of the body and soul.
We’ll take our time to make each experience as relaxing as possible for you. When needed, I can incorporate dream interpretation to integrate messages from the subconscious into your chosen healing journey.
I often call upon my inner yogi to teach powerful exercises that may assist in the healing process. When needed, I will recommend certain yoga stretches to further assist what our acupuncture treatment is doing. I also teach patients Qi Gong exercises to release fear and anger and to ground their energy into the Earth.
I use Tibetan Healing Bowls which are sound healing tools used on the body to release stress and balance energy systems. Tibetan monks calibrated the bowls to produce certain sounds and vibrations that heal and harmonize the energies in the body.
Acupuncture calls upon these healing arts, and many others, to create a journey that is unique to you. I look forward to guiding you toward a lifetime of happiness and wellbeing.
